Migrate OpManager from Postgres to MSSQL

I am trying to migrate from Postgres to SQL server. I followed these steps.

1.  run BackupDB.bat
2. Stop Opmanger Service
3. run DBConfiguration.bat (the database_params.conf does not get updated it still points to       Postgres)
4. run Restoredb.bat

The DBConfiguration.bat does create a new database on the remote server.  But when I run the RestoreDB.bat I get an error message of "Invalid License file".  If I click OK the restore goes back to Postgres.

do you know why the DBConfiguration.bat program will create the database but the restore still restore to the original Postgres database.

Build 12200 requires me to uninstall build 12100.  If I do that i'll lose all my configurations.

Thanks Gabriel. Can this work on ESXi free edition?

Based on the discussions on this page , OpManager should work for ESXi free edition too since it requires only read only options to show the data.

Thanks
Gabriel.

Hi,

Please have a complete OpManager folder backup before proceeding with the upgrade process.
While upgrading from 12100 to 12220 you will not lose any data.

Kindly download the service pack(.ppm file ) and follow the instructions for the upgrade.

Let us know for further clarifications.

Can we have a quick remote session to check on this now?

We don't have it yet OpManager. Time being, try configuring it in a Firewall.

We will try to get this supported in one of our service pack.

Thanks
Gabriel.

Hi,

I would like to monitor checkpoint firewalls particularly model 290. Unfortunately, there are no MIB included inside the device template for me to add the performance monitors. How can I go about getting this added ?

MIB file as per attached.

Hi

Running version 12200 of opmanager.  I'm trying to monitor the performance of an IBM V5020 and V7000 - How do I go about doing this?

I've downloaded the MIB's file and copied it into the mibs folder.  I've setup the v7000 smnp to point to the server with the snmp password but struggling to get the 2 to talk.

Thanks

Andy

Hi,

Can you provide the link for NBAR2AppNames.xml and also procedure how to safely update opmanager 12.2 ?

It seems that our config file is blank:
  1. <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
  2. <!--$Id$-->
  3. <NBAR2AppNames>
  4. </NBAR2AppNames>
